Either the rain washed away the mess or somebody else did. Either way it is clean now.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3767127531333372490.post-15434532167219548832015-05-30T18:33:08.293-05:002015-05-30T18:33:08.293-05:00Hello all,

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kansas City is an institution that has been near and dear to my heart for years. I am currently participating in their annual "Summer Bowl for Kids' Sake" fundraiser. As the readers of this post have been so generous in previous years, I wanted to reach out again - particularly this year.

My fundraising team has partnered with Raytown-native and renowned local artist Chris Sembower (www.chrissembower.com) You may have seen some of his work if you purchased a souvenir cup at Arrowhead Stadium in the last couple of years - he designed them. If you donate between now and the weekend of June 27th and 28th to my cause at www.summerbowl.org/danielthode2015 , you will automatically be entered into a drawing for one of Chris' pieces valued at nearly $500!

Thank you for helping improve the lives of the kids in our community,

Best,

DanielDaniel Thodehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09238549809128030645noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3767127531333372490.post-70376114302038332772015-05-30T07:22:17.640-05:002015-05-30T07:22:17.640-05:00One is an incumbent who was just re-elected and th...One is an incumbent who was just re-elected and the other is an incumbent who is up for re-election in two years.
Marilynnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3767127531333372490.post-83971748262402689782015-05-29T18:39:20.370-05:002015-05-29T18:39:20.370-05:00Interesting comment. I hope they are incumbents up for election next year.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3767127531333372490.post-56722994305952258912015-05-29T14:26:26.958-05:002015-05-29T14:26:26.958-05:00Be thankful we're not getting all the governme...Be thankful we're not getting all the government we're paying for.

--Will Rogers-- Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3767127531333372490.post-66190429641760833542015-05-29T11:03:20.565-05:002015-05-29T11:03:20.565-05:00Anon 7:12

I think the new aldermen have shown they are not willing to take anyone's word on how they should think and vote. They appear to be independent thinkers. It sure is nice for a change. Two of the longest sitting Aldermen seem to like passing on the vote until they find out how the wind blows, then vote with the majority. It's almost as if they don't know what to do with Bower gone.Marilynnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3767127531333372490.post-44544765014554868262015-05-29T07:12:28.149-05:002015-05-29T07:12:28.149-05:00Isn't it interesting how the city has plenty o...Isn't it interesting how the city has plenty of money to burn on a swimming pool very few use, propane conversion on vehicles they plan to be rid of in less than three years, but no money for decent street overlay that would improve the value of our homes and improve Raytown's image in the area? The Board has made some pretty good moves lately. Let's hope they keep on track. If this first month of their work is any indication of the sloppy way the city has been run over the last eight years they have a lot of work ahead of them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3767127531333372490.post-87607532197813109902015-05-27T14:52:42.117-05:002015-05-27T14:52:42.117-05:00Anon 1:19

New City Council, new mayor, and we still can't get the meetings posted to the city's website in a timely manner. The meeting was 6 days ago (I took out a day for the holiday). It still isn't there. I thought this new Mayor was going to be different. I guess not. That's too bad. I had high hopes for him.

Marilynnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3767127531333372490.post-78952425457609703812015-05-27T10:46:56.253-05:002015-05-27T10:46:56.253-05:00Anon 3:12 -

It's silly to waste money converting a 3 year old truck when the city is only going to get another 5-6 years of service out of the vehicle.Elizabethnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3767127531333372490.post-11075524061267249182015-05-26T15:12:56.519-05:002015-05-26T15:12:56.519-05:00Why spend money to convert to propane? If the city wishes to move toward propane, then purchase new vehicles with propane already adapted to the vehicle when the time comes to replace the current gas vehicle. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
