Now let’s see how high taxes go and if they do anything with it because I’m sure it’ll be back on the next ballot.

The election results should, once again, send a very strong message to this "mayor", Myers, city administrator, any anyone else that supports this extraordinary money grab. After what we have witnessed from you over the past several months, the adults have entered the room, have taken a seat, and have no intention of leaving.

Well they had their way and fooled enough people finally.

As of this viewing (8 AM), the percentages you show are correct but the vote totals for sewer should be shown as 4,964 Yes and 3,704 No. It actually only passed by 0.13% - 11 votes. The requirement for passage in this election is 4/7, which equals 57.14%. Roads missed by 39 votes - 0.45%. I won't be surprised if this comes back in April. It is the only election next year that requires 4/7. All other 2023 elections would require 2/3.

Some are reporting both passed. This is wrong, only the lower sewer bond had the super majority needed.

This is why they need a super majority, because you can fool some of the people some of the time. But to fool enough with over burdening taxes on an economic cliff, definitely should have a super majority!
Hope it was worth the 200,000 dollars or more to win.
And this with barely any no people this go around.

Let’s remember they promised only a dollar a day, that’s 30 bucks a month, we will see.

Hopefully some mail or other ballots come through to right the 11 sewer passed by. Or we could get a fund together for a recount. Does anyone know the cost?

Ryan,

We know you don't like questions, but you sure like taxes.

Based on that "fact" should we expect your tax question on POT to be on the April ballot?

If you do that will you run question 1 again too as it is all over town you said why not add other questions as you are already paying for an election or are you now denying you said that in front of a group of people.

By the way, the city always pays for an April election in odd number year. I know this is news to you based on the way you like to spend money on special elections.

While on the subject when are you going to show us the windfall from the internet tax. We would like to see directly from the state as know on trust you.

I know the truth hurts, but you broken promises are done!

I certainly hope that other Aldermen are thinking for themselves and aren't being led around. There appear to be some impulsivity and self-control issues here with a couple BOA's that need to be brought under control, in my opinion.

So I talked to the mayor and he said they are not going to start any sewer projects until the street bond pass next time. The reason is simple, they can’t afford to repair the streets that are damaged by repair the sewer lines without the help of the bonds.
I think though they won’t get the bonds because taxes will shoot up and they won’t get another increase. It will be interesting to see if they do use the bonds if they move the regular money from the sewer and storm water portion of the budget to somewhere else.

I got confused by all the yard signs, and I think I may have voted for a realtor.

Interesting the city news letter doesn't have any information about filling for Mayor or Alderman.

I'm sure it was an oversight by those professionals at city hall and not an attempt to have candidates who respect the vote and citizens instead of elected officials that yell and treat citizens as their servants.

"Interesting the city news letter doesn't have any information about filing for Mayor or Alderman..."

So. Either way, it's staggering incompetence (IMO) where our ridiculously overpaid civic employees have failed to convey a mind-numbingly basic piece of information on an already bare-bones, non-interactive (and an
predominately sourced out at that? $$!) city website?

-OR- how they ("admin" and "mayor" et al) may be purposefully operating on the down low by deliberately not mentioning that there are upcoming opportunities for citizens to participate in local government?

Is this true?

Is there a pattern here?

We are truly in the midst of one continuous, slow-moving civic nightmare.

The outcome is predictable, if we continue to simply do nothing other than stand by and witness.
