Mr. McDonough,

I am very concerned about the city's choice for a law firm and hope you understand that we the taxpayers expect answers. Answers that if not received will not only make you and your administration look bad, but leave us with no other option than requesting through petition to get the greatest awareness to the missouri supreme court about the same questions and ask for their independent review into the city's law firm.

The reality, if we are forced by you to take these steps that it could cause the city to struggle to find legal representation in the future at an affordable price as they to while not want to deal with taxpayer watch dogs because you refused to do the right thing either the public funds you oversee.

First of all we want honest answers and if you and the law firm the city won't give we are certain the State Supreme Court will take action again the city's law firm.

Do you have proof that the law firm told you to move forward with removing Alderman Thomas outside of 79.240?

Do you have proof as one of the Alderman claimed in writing from your choice of law firms with a state statute you are the boss of the Alderman?

Do you know when you choice of law firms will provide the required proof of the court case that a city was sued because an elected official abstained?

If you think we are wrong you might want to check with the Missouri Supreme Court and see if these are problems for the choice you have made for the city's law firm.

As we get closer to the city election, we need to look at our alderman, and ask ourselves, do they represent us, or do they represent the mayor.

Every one has a day that they will find themselves accountable to someone. That accountability, it's now being brought forward. " We the people" as our founding fathers of this great nation said. We are tired of the tyranny. We are tired of the lack of respect. We, the people have proof of how our mayor has manipulated and granted special privileges that serve him and not the citizens of Raytown. This is destroyed, trust, this is destroyed our streets. If he thinks the we don't have the documentation regarding special treatment, the department heads then he is a fool. And through our efforts behind closed doors that he too enjoys, we have been able to obtain proof of other indiscretions that go against open government, something that he claims we have with his burst of transparency. The transparency is the thing lacking under his guidance. We need a new mayor and we need alderman, that represent the people and not just serve as a rubber stamp, smiling and bubbling their heads to repeat whatever the mayor tells them to. The things we have on certain senior staff, we'll make it clear that next April. Not only does there need to be a change in the elected leadership, but in the staffing leadership. We have term limits in Jefferson City. We have term limits for the president of the United States for a reason. 12 years of misguided, self-righteous
Because one man didn't get the pad on the back that he wanted during his time. As a police officer is been the most costly mistake. Raytown has ever made. Citizens pay attention for more is coming and the day of accountability is nearing.

Let's gather the boxes empty now and provide Em to City Hall. So the staffers can start packing because we are not getting the services promised. Paid for by the hard earned dollars that we give them.

We the people

Is the city switching over to speed humps because our police department is unable to provide the service that we're paying for?

The city has had discussions for last year regarding traffic calming methods. Speed humps are one of the most effective ways to slow down speeders on residential streets. The speed humps work 24/7. Those who believe it would be a good idea to speed over them will learn that speeding over a speed hump repeatedly makes as much sense as aiming your tires at potholes and punching the gas pedal when doing so. It is not a good idea. But some people are pretty hard-headed.

As for your comments regarding the police, the only person who can answer that question would be the Chief of Police.

I have been in Raytown 68 years and I remember the citizens of Raytown passed a Transportation Tax years ago that was going to repave and maintain our deplorable streets we have now. WHERE DID ALL THAT TAX MONEY GO!!!!!! Now we just passed/renewed another Transportation Tax. Something is fishy!! We are wastefully spending citizen tax dollars on a stupid law suit on an new Alderman just because the Mayor wanted his buddy Ryan Myers in place so he can use him as a puppet. Look how much of the attorney fees we could of used to fix our streets. The mayor needs to GO!!!!!!!!!

This is just a gripe. I called the number mentioned above because I think I know where a couple of speed bumps would be good. This isn't just about Raytown, even though the shoe fits. It seems that every business has gone to an automated phone system. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world but they recorded message almost always begins with some instructions about hanging up and dialing 911, or some other department. Then the navigational part, "if you'd like to hear about career opportunities press 242," you get the idea. Here's the complaint. Nobody at the business or in this case city hall, has done anything. That's great, for the folks at city hall. For the person calling it's just an extra couple of minutes trying to figure out which number is most likely to be relevant. Seriously, how much would it cost to have someone competent answer a phone and direct a call appropriately?
Anyway after listening to the menu, (poor audio quality) and making a choice from the list, I get another recording telling me that no one is available to take my call and to please leave a message. At least the automated voice was easy to hear. I understand that there are always exceptions, but on a Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, it seems like
there should be someone there. Here's the thing; to city hall, the caller's time has no value. The system exists for the convenience of whoever is receiving the call. Perhaps there is some money saved, perhaps they'll really get back with me in a timely manor. But the money saved, directly or indirectly, came out of a citizen's pocket. It never belonged to the city. The time lost was also donated by the individual. The idea for improvement, in this case, also came from citizens. I think our mayor is on record as saying that speed humps don't work. Hmm.

Nope, not even close. The "blood on the hands" comment is ridiculous at best. It does remind me of the way addicts always find an excuse for their own bad behavior. The fact that suspects or persons of interest are in custody is evidence that the police are doing their job, or at least making the effort. Maybe that was an emotional outburst, but it's also possible that the intent is to be inflammatory.

My initial reaction is to wonder about who raised the kid or person who did the shooting.

The recycle fest Raytown had on Saturday, the volunteers were asking for donations towards the electronics to recycle. I had a microwave and some small radios with cords. The list Never said anything about a donation for those. We gave 10.00. I don't think I should pay Anything since my taxes are so high in Raytown. I think it is BS and going forward I will just throw the items in the trash!

I see on facebook the mayor is bragging about the great outcome of the annual recycling program. I am too glad that he finally was able to find and do something successful. What is concerning, though, is the mirror doesn't see the benefit in doing this on a monthly basis or so, down at the public works facility like we used to. After all, this is something citizens have asked about ever since we lost the recycling center in Raytown. I'm sure the mayor will have an excuse being he always does.

Some people will believe anything the mayor does. And thinks he is a golden calf, you know, a god. If you don't understand the mayor's behavior and his failures that have led to the crimes here in raytown, then you need to pull your head out of the sand.

The mayor we have now has never been working for the city. I always warned people. Be careful, there's some hidden charge. Something that he doesn't want you to know. And then you take it, and you're gonna take it hard. Remember, he's the clown that wanted us to pay higher taxes. During all the assessment, but let's be honest. It's still not cleared up. They're working on it. But think how bad we could have been hit in raytown. The mayor still runs around going. Oh, you know, nobody knew that was gonna happen. What do you mean? The news was reporting it all those years ago.

Let me get this straight. The city puts out a flyer telling everyone participate in a recycling event. Then, after you put in your recycling, they hit you up for donation!

I thought this "bait and switch" ploy was only used by used car dealers. If our mayor was part of this scam, shame on him. I can assure you i will not be voting him to another term in office next April.

i sincerely hope someone with integrity will file for the office of Mayor. We need a change at City Hall. Next April cannot come soon enough.
